High-protein two-ingredient ice-cream recipe

High-protein two-ingredient ice-cream recipe

Creating balance is often a significant part of what goes into cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sweets, on the other hand, aren’t typically held to the same standards. After all, cakes, cookies, pies, and puddings aren’t exactly known to derive from high-protein dessert recipes. But why not?

It’s easier than you may think to whip up desserts that are full of protein, fiber, and healthy fats. This is especially true for anyone looking to get a little extra protein in their day, because this dessert is high in the macronutrient, which is responsible for building muscle.

And since consuming enough protein is also a key to getting through the day without needing a nap, this recipe doubles as a perfect go-to snack as well.

Protein powder can be worked right into homemade ice cream, too. Here’s how to make it using two ingredients: protein powder (vanilla or chocolate, whatever flavor you’re going for) and bananas.

Drizzling nut butter on top will give your scoop even more flavor and an added helping of the muscle-building macronutrient. Ready to get baking?

And it goes pretty well on these summer days!

To make this ice cream, I first froze a few bananas. I peeled them, cut them in half, and put them in a Ziploc bag. After one day in the freezer, I took out one of the bananas and threw it in my mini Cuisinart with a scoop of protein powder. That’s it! No liquid and no other ingredients.

I blended the two until it was smooth. At this point, the ice cream was a bit runny because of the blending, so I put the finished blend back into the freezer. Not for very long. Maybe one hour or less. Just until it started to get more solid, but not too solid I couldn’t scoop it out.

Here´s the recipe:

Ingredients:

1 large frozen banana

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Instructions:

1 Blend frozen banana with protein powder in a food processor.

2 Serve immediately or refreeze until ready to serve.

Easy, right? Teel me if you try it! Here at home, all the family loves it!
